Hi, it’s me!

Hi All!

I’ve been thinking its always nice to put a face to a name, so I’ve included a picture of me below.

A little about me- I live in Melbourne, Australia but would live in 10 places at once if it was possible 🙂

I work for a design company but not doing a creative job, so blogging, taking photos and travelling are my “outlets”
– do you live like this also?!

Please introduce yourself and let me know where you live and what you love to do in your spare time

It’s nice to meet you all!

My Instagram account

Because i’ma having trouble “blogging” whilst I’m away on holidays- I thought it might be nice to post up my Instagram account- since I usually express myself and what I’ve seen through photography.

A London tale

I’ve been so busy since arriving in London that I haven’t had a chance to sit down & post.
Since arriving I’ve been to the lovely wedding of some really great friends & been out for some delicious meals.
I’ve been sight seeing in Islington, Camden Town, Hyde Park, Wokingham & SoHo.

Tonight we went for dinner at Jamie Oliver’s Restaurant in Angel – Jamie’s Italian (see photo below) it was lovely.

Tomorrow we’re off to Paris for the day: something I NEVER dreamed I’d say!
I’ll try to post about it.

Let The Adventure Begin

This is it! Years in longing, Months in the planning, days in anticipation, hours of packing, minutes of excitement!

I am off on my overseas trip!

Officially on Holidays

I just had to share with you all- I’m officially on holidays for 3 weeks!! I don’t fly out for 2 more days but boy oh boy is this a good feeling!!

See a gorgeous card one of my work colleagues gave me below!

4 days & counting

I have been meaning to write ever since I wrote a lovely post about a week ago and then accidentally wiped it- I was so disheartened & have since just not been able to muster the motivation to “have another go” – blogging 1, Ali 0

It’s been a whirlwind couple of weeks TBH. I’ve a lot going on at work & soon I’m heading off on an amazing overseas adventure composed of the Trifecta: London, Paris, New York!
Ok, please don’t quit on me here – I am absolutely not complaining- quite the opposite- I feel so incredibly lucky to be going on such am amazing trip that I think I still can’t believe it’s true.

I’m hoping to blog on the go so please so check in with me 🙂

Anyone else got a bucket list trip they’re planning or going on soon? I’d love to hear about it.

A List for July

I love lists.

There’s something about a crisp sheet of paper and a freshly sharpened pencil that promises a fresh start- a chance to begin again and get things done! A tick or a crisp line struck through a task can be so rewarding.
But lists can be many things; a great way to reflect, dream or be thankful or just as a snapshot of a specific time in your life.
Here’s a list of what I’m up to this July!

Currently I’m

Reading… The Road – Cormac mcCarthy & Lonely Planet New York City Guide!

Playing… Furr – Blitzen Trapper

Trying… to get back into studying some French

Cooking… simple and comforting winter dishes like these

EatingMeredith Dairy goat’s cheese seriously incredible (eat well!)

Drinking… hot cups of English breakfast tea

Pinningwhite bricks

Loving… that in 14 days I’m leaving on an overseas adventure (travel often!)

Not loving … how cold it is!

Discovering… WordPress!

Enjoying… planning for my upcoming trip (more on this later!)

Thinking… about sleep

Feeling… sleepy!

Smelling… my incredible Voluspa Baltic Amber candle

Thankful For…family, friends, how lucky I am to have the means & freedom to travel

Considering… my options

Finishing… an incredibly delicious jar of cherry jam

Starting…a blog!

Eat Well, Travel Often xo

Eat well Travel Often

To eat well & travel often!

in 2013 I feel I’ve finally settled on a mantra I could definitely live by. It honours so much of what is wonderful about being alive.
To borrow from another famous quote (often attributed to Mark Twain) – I want to set out on this journey and live by these words:

“…break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that made you smile….throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

Let’s jump in together! Are you in?!
